Course I completed back in May.

State library staff,
I completed the NSW Public Library Learning 2.0 in May however upon not receiving my certificate I thought I had better check to see if everything was completed. I checked it and I couldn't find week 9 on my blogs. On the day my computer was very slow and I had trouble going into alot of sites, I must have forgot to blog about it. I'm so sorry and I do apology for not thinking to check on it earlier.
I hope everything is in order now, please let me know if there is anything else not completed
I did enjoy doing the course and found it very interesting

Week 9 podcast 5th August 09

This one I found interesting but the computer was very slow. I was unable to open alot of sites on the day I did my course. I did get the idea of it and thought it would be good to use in big libraries, however I'm only from a small library and I don't think it would be suitable to us to use. Great to watch (what I could) though.

Week 12 - successful networking

RR - I found this sort of networking to be interesting. To have facebook available in such websites as the National Musuem, The War Memorial is really keeping up with the times, which I only found out today. Facebook and My Space are just another world and I'm sure it is the way the world is turning. I think my little country library is not ready for facebook just yet!!!!

Week 11 - on line applications

RR - I didn't realise there was so much software available on the computer without installing them. Collaboration is such a good idea - I can really see it saves alot of time especially when you are so busy. It would work in our library in a number of areas. We could all set up a document on ideas on storytime and special events in the library. The author visit would make a good collaboration for the Riverina Regional Library and branches to use. The document could include introducing new ideas and improvements.

Week 10 - mashups

RR - Mashups are amazing - I really enjoyed creating my postage stamp. I have again discovered the hugh wide world of mashup etc. I'm really excited to show my children I can create a mashup. Using it in our library would be fun and to inform children/adults its available I think will be yet another tool to have in our library.

Week 8

RR - Week 8 was interesting "slamming the Boards" and the Taste web com. Also I found the yahoo 7 answers a really good tool. My library is in a country town so slamming the boards they would find interesting and following the slam boards. The knowledge and sharing the ideas is great, it gives the opportunity for everyone to enhance their views and to explore their knowledge.

Week 7 - Library thing and tagging

RR - I found the Library thing site amazing - a very strong tool. It offers so much and very informative. I found the site easy to work with and to find your way around. To add books and to rate, tag was easy - a great site for a beginner like me. I hope to continue adding books and making comments.

Week 5 - continued comment

Week 5 - I continued my wiki adventure and got onto my rivilister site through the Rivernia Library. I made a comment on their site -"useful sites". Rivilister is such a useful site and I'm looking forward to enjoyting it. It has lots of useful sites and information for everyone to enjoy.

week 6
I found my computer was really slow and I had trouble opening the you tube video clips. Most of the sites took too long to open - this may be a problem. However I didn't realise what you can find on you tube. I now know why its so popular with the children and even adults. Its very much a time waster. I will find it very useful for children with their essays and getting information.

Week 5
I had trouble getting onto the edit page of the wiki. I have signed up, and will do the exercise in my library during the week. I was watching the others doing their editing and adding - they all seem to be able to do it quite well. I like the idea of a wiki to obtain information and ideas from other libraries. I just need to add some ideas myself and remember to check the site.

Week 4 - Bloglines

Bloglines will be very handy and I found their was alot of bloglines - it was amazing. There is so much being offered I just wasn't aware of it all. It will be very handy to have alot of the bloglines available and the most popular ones. To add was very easy and once I get use to the whole idea I'll be able to remove some of the bloglines. I also found the sites very informative and easy to read. A blogline is yet another way to communicate with the world

Week 3 - I found this wondering photo of a beautiful flower on flickr pasted on the Coolamon site. I found the flickr experience to have a wonderful section of pictures and I found it hard to choose a picture. The variety was amazing.

RR - I'm doing this course to hopefully to be able to create and blog, a flicka account and to create a e-tube. I'm finding the course to be full of interesting data and lots of interesting facts. I'm sure I'll find it interesting for my clients and myself. To be able to help our clients and my family too will be a great advantage. I'm currently doing a course through the Rivernia library over the next two weeks. thanks for listening Helen

This is my first time creating a blog. So far its been OK and I'm sure I'll find the course interesting and exciting. I'm doing the course over two weeks and hopefully I'll be able to it all by then and be able to help other customers to do it as well. Also I'm hoping to be able to help my children set up accounts and our valuable customers too. Even to teach my husband to do it as well. I'm sure the course will be great
